Road Trip to Canada

I took my first road trip this week… destination: Canada! We took the I-5, which sucks, but it got us to Grandma’s house quickly. Daddy’s Ford F-350 really puts me to sleep, and I napped most of the way. Oregon is really beautiful though. I loved the rolling hills and barnyard animals. Daddy said Oregon is the inspiration for toy train track builders.

Other than a bit of trouble with Canada customs, the trip was a cinch.

It’s been such a treat getting to know Grandma Whittington. Her condo is filled with everything I could possibly need, so I feel quite at home. I have my own crib right next to mommy and daddy’s bed, and I feel very independent in it. She has a super playpen with colorful animals and a big, comfy bathtub. You’ll notice Grandma and I have the same hairdo!

Grandma, daddy, mommy, and I went to the Vedder river today so I could see daddy’s fishing spots. Daddy stopped at a tackle shop along the way and bought some bright fishing lures to build me a mobile that he’ll hang above my car seat. Look at the mighty Vedder:

Enjoying moss and mosquitos!

Everyone ate at Rowina’s on the river… a magical spot, but I opted for a picnic lunch at the fish hatchery!

  1. Welcome to Canada Rudy! I know you will love it here. Looks like you made it through customs, even though the guy had to body search you for anything you might be smuggling into Canada.
You and your Grandma look pretty cool with your look a like do’s. I bet she was excited to finally meet her new Grandson.
As for the trip to see your namesake river, looks like it was two thumbs up with you. I bet Daddy can’t wait to take you fishing. Yup, you are one lucky little boy. So have fun while you are in your first country and let everyone spoil you rotten with lots of hugs, kisses and cuddles.
