Sayulita and Bermuda

In May we went to Sayulita, Mexico with Jason and Eliza. We swam in the ocean, stumbled along stone streets, ate fish tacos, and chased iguanas. The kids on the beach were so friendly! They brought me watermelon, a bobble-head horse, a pink doggie, and a “Rudy” bracelet!

For Grandma’s and Grandpa’s 50th wedding anniversary, we all visited Uncle Terry and Auntie Alice in New Jersey. My cousins Alexa and Tami taught me how to say “Little fart.” They let me play with their piano, Little Ponies, doll house, and baby goldfish. Their house is so beautiful because there are pictures of fish and bears, and a fly-tying room filled with colorful flies. Uncle Terry wanted to cut a curl of my hair for a fly, but Daddy wants my hair long and shaggy like the other Santa Cruz boys.

The girls let me ride their razor and they pulled me in their wagon. I had such fun chasing bubbles and hopping with the backyard bunny. Then we all took a cruise from New York to Bermuda. In the splash pool, I pulled the pretty girls’ hair, I slapped the boys and made them cry, and I went head-first down the steps instead of the slide. The ocean in Bermuda is warm and filled with speedy white crabs that are impossible to catch. Bermudian cocks are impressive, too!

Onboard the ship, I got so tired of walking the long hallway from our stateroom… so I often said “Wanna hold you!” so someone would pick me up and carry me. Daddy got tired of walking too, so he scooted instead 😉 On my birthday, we drank Veuve Clicquot at Cirque du Soleil.  I loved the Jungle Fantasy frogs, birds, and bumblebees! Daddy loved the acrobatics, and said this explained the mysterious “hot chicks on board.”

For my birthday, my grandmas got me a (green!) balance bike and Thomas the Train and his engine friends. My favorite is the Fire train that says, “Stay back! Stay calm!”

For daddy’s birthday, mommy put 46 candles in the cake… one too many! Judy made fancy jello shooters!

I’m starting to talk a LOT!

When it’s bed time: “Momma, leave the lights on. Leave the door open! Don’t close the door, mommy!”

When the afternoon sun shines onto the dining room chandelier: “It’s Rudy’s rainbows!”

When I pick up a toy: “This have a button?”

Among my favorite things… the number 5, the sound “meow,” the color green, and clothes with alligators, frogs, or helicopters. Favorite foods: gummy bunnies and banana popsicles.

Things I think are funny: cars in my sleeping sack, poo logs in the bathtub,  “The Family Guy,” and morning tickle-time with Daddy.
